By Roberto Morgese, illustrations by Francesco Montesanti. With which words does the future of a girl or boy begin? Catia, thirteen years old, chooses those that speak of sustainability, commitment and collaboration. These are the words that will make her become a world-famous scientist. The novel is inspired by the life, as a very young girl, of the world-famous researcher Catia Bastioli. Catia is a special thirteen-year-old, as all girls are special, whimsical and popular or reserved and thoughtful. Behind their way of being at school or at home there is a world of unexpressed thoughts. Finding her own path, between the fear of being misunderstood and the desire to fulfill herself, means for her to confront adults. It means bringing out her nascent scientific and ecological sensitivity, but also managing to remain oneself among noisy peers. Catia is at the beginning of that journey. Words, the true and important ones, help her to orient herself among intellectual interests, solitary escapes and first approaches with boys. Recommended reading age: 11 years and up.
