I was a drop Text by Barbara Ferraro, illustrations by Andrea Alemanno
Illustrated book - hardback - 24x21
"I slip between the fingers of the clouds that once welcomed me and I fall and as I fall I change shape because once I was round now I am a drop". Water tells its story, considering all its forms. It rages, it quenches, it refreshes, it flows. In the poetry of the cycle of nature, it moves as a protagonist, whether it is a small drop among many or an enormous wave of the sea. It moves and as it moves it changes, leaving room for emotions that fall on the universal level, and at the same time telling something else, about finding each other, recognizing each other, being friends. The text, yes, dry and with a syncopated rhythm, breathes on wide and extended spaces in which blue, in all its shades, white, transparencies triumph. The alternation of transparent paper with white paper invites the reader to cross the rain, to dive into the ocean, to come into contact with the earth and themselves. A game of discovery between light and color where everything is in continuous transformation.
